Mary Elizabeth Saunders Waller, 92, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Monday, May 29, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Clear Creek Baptist Church in Oxford, with Rev. Charles Lipe and Rev. William Theo Wright officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery. The visitation will be held Sunday evening, May 28, 2017, from 5 to 7: p.m. at Waller Funeral Home and also prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Monday at the church.

Born to the late Nevy Franklin and Alma Gertrude Arnold Saunders, Mrs. Waller was a homemaker and a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church where she served as Sunday school secretary. She also served 25 years working in the nursery, was part of the kitchen committee, a member of the Women’s Missionary Union and women’s prayer group and taught Vacation Bible School. She greatly enjoyed making popcorn balls for children at Halloween. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin H. “Blue” Waller, a sister, Buelah Saunders Russell and a brother, James Edward Saunders.

She is survived by her daughters, Carol Waller Carpenter and her husband, Philip of Oxford, Joyce Waller Webb and her husband, George of Oxford, Brenda Waller Gordon and her husband, Craig of Oxford, and Sandra Waller Marrar and her husband, Muteib of Amman, Jordan; nine grandchildren, Lisa Carpenter Mooney and her husband, Robert of Oxford, Elizabeth Webb Irby and her husband, Stuart of Little Rock, Arkansas, Bradford Waller Webb of Oxford, Philip Brian Carpenter and his wife, Shelby of Myrtle, Kelly C. Lamb and his wife, Brenda of  Saltillo, Kristen Lamb Shepherd and her husband, Kent of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Natalie Marrar Estrada and her husband, Frank of Oxford, Madaline Marrar of Amman, Jordan, Malik Marrar and his wife, Nely of Arlington, Texas; 16 great grandchildren, Hollin Webb of Oxford, Meghan Quintanilla of Saltillo, Taylor Mooney of Oxford, Jenna Carpenter of Myrtle, Nadia Marrar of Arlington, Texas, Mary Grace Mooney of Oxford, Cydnee Webb of Houston, Mississippi, Kaden Shepherd of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jackson Mooney of Oxford, Morgan Lamb of Saltillo, Karson Shepherd of Lake Charles, Louisiana, Jacob Irby of Little Rock, Arkansas, Cade Carpenter of Myrtle, Lily Marrar of Arlington, Texas, Chalmers Irby of Little Rock, Arkansas and Saunders Irby of Little Rock, Arkansas and a host of nieces and nephews.
