Due to high demand for tickets, the Governor’s Concert on June 24 at Ole Miss to celebrate the Mississippi Bicentennial is being moved from the Ford Center to the Grove stage.

The outdoor concert will no longer require tickets, allowing more people to attend. There will be no reserved seating, and patrons are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs and picnics. The concert begins on June 24 at 6:30 p.m.

“Due to overwhelming interest, we are moving the concert to The Grove Stage, outdoors on the University of Mississippi campus,” event organizers Visit Mississippi said today in an email.

The event had been slated for the Ford Center on the Ole Miss campus, but high ticket demand made moving to the outdoor venue sensible.

Country and Americana music legend Marty Stuart will headline the Governor’s Concert at the Mississippi Bicentennial Celebration North, set for June 24 in Oxford. The free event is part of celebrations around the state during 2017.
