Sura

With broken hearts, we announce the passing of our dearest Dad, husband, brother, and Grandad, Stephen Joseph Sura. He led a very full life and even when dementia took over, he still graced everyone with his beautiful smile. We believe that he was at peace and comfortable in his final days. We greatly appreciate the medical care, support and strength we all received on his behalf.

He is survived by, and was a wonderful husband, to Maureen Heffernan; was the best father to Jamie (Louisa), Anthony (Sandra), Elisabeth (Dave), and Gillian (Mike); a very proud Grandad to his 13 grandchildren; a loving brother to Lillian and John; and an excellent uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his wife Judith Lamarche, and parents Stephen and Josephine Sura.

He was a proud McGill Engineering Class of 1957 alumni. Perhaps, he was even more proud of his Executive MBA degree from Concordia at 52 years old. He had a successful business career. He thoroughly enjoyed his numerous rounds of golf and great friends at The Royal Montreal and Webhannet Golf Clubs. He was a dedicated father, and attended every hockey game, swim meet and horseriding lesson possible. He was always known to be a true gentleman and a very kind man. There was always a twinkle in his eye.

Visitation will take place at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White Funeral Home, 222 Highway 20, in Pointe Claire, on Friday, June 9, from 4-7 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, June 10, at St. Edmund’s Church, 105 Beaconsfield Blvd., Beaconsfield, Quebec, Canada.
