TUPELO — Winfred P. Sparks, 81, died Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 15, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Coleman Funeral Home with interment to follow in The Garden of Memories in Oxford. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 14, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.

A native of Lafayette County, he served two years in the United States Army.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sibyl Bland Sparks; brothers Herbert Lee Sparks, Hulon F. Sparks, Elbert C. Sparks, John Thomas Sparks, William A. Sparks, David E. Sparks and Bobby L. Sparks; and one sister.

He is survived by sisters Birdie Ross of North Carolina, Cladie Smith of Parsons, Tennessee and Ruby R. Maples of Oxford; and a host of nieces and nephews.
