Front porch conference a great idea

We love the creativity of Oxford and Lafayette County that continues to develop and emerge.
Take the Conference on the Front Porch that is coming back for a second year as a prime example.
The idea of Campbell McCool, the inaugural conference was held at his Plein Air development in Taylor in 2016, focusing on discussions and study relating to the history of the front porch. Multiple attendees of last year’s conference, which drew almost 100 registrants, believed it was engaging study and fellowship, and worthy of being an annual event.
And that’s what will occur this coming October, since McCool and company are bringing the Conference on the Front Porch back for another year.
With a headliner like Oxford’s own John T. Edge, we have no doubt year two will be bigger and better than the first year.
It is ingenuity and creativity like this that make Oxford, Lafayette County and Ole Miss a special place to live and learn.
It also happens to be a fantastic way to showcase a development like Plein Air. Not every developer can host an educational conference each year, but there are still lessons to learn here from McCool’s approach.
The Conference on the Front Porch is a good addition to Oxford and we are glad to see it is coming back for another year.
