Government offices closed for Fourth of July holiday

Due to the Fourth of July holiday on Tuesday, several local government offices will be closed on Monday and Tuesday.

Garbage pickup scheduled for Monday will not change. In the city of Oxford, Monday’s rubbish — leaves and yard debris — will be collected on Wednesday and Thursday.

Trash pick up normally collected on Tuesday, will be collected instead on Wednesday in both Oxford and Lafayette County.

All city and county offices will be closed Monday and Tuesday.

State and Federal offices, including the U.S. Post Office, will be closed on Tuesday.

The Lafayette County and Oxford Public Library will be closed on Tuesday.

The Oxford-University Transit buses will run on Monday but will not run on Tuesday.

Meters around the Square will be turned off on Monday and Tuesday.

The Oxford EAGLE will be publishing a newspaper on July 4th; however, the business office will be closed Tuesday.
