Car theft leads OPD on high-speed chase

At approximately 6:43 this morning the Oxford Police Department received a 911 call from a person at the Circle K on Thacker Road who reported that his black 2017 Toyota Corolla had just been stolen while he was inside the store. He told officers that the car drove west on Hwy 6 towards Batesville.

Officers eventually intercepted the vehicle near the Lafayette County line and initiated a traffic stop. The suspect did not stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Officers pursued the vehicle into Panola County where it was eventually called off by the patrol supervisor on duty. The surrounding agencies were notified of the vehicle description.
