The Lafayette Count Sheriff’s Department is seeking help from the public to bring in a man who stole checks from a local business’ mailbox recently.

Investigators say Charles Rashad Batts of Atlanta, Georgia has a warrant from Lafayette County for uttering forgery. They claim Batts took checks out of the mailbox of a local business and then erased and changed the names on the checks. He then allegedly cashed the checks at a bank in Walls.
