THAXTON — Mr. Shural Quay Sneed, 74, passed away Monday, August 14, 2017, at Oxford Health and Rehab, after an extended illness.

Born to Quay Dudley Sneed and Opal Russell Sneed, Mr. Sneed grew up in Hurricane, MS. He worked for East Ford in Jackson before joining his parents in Grenada, MS, and then Oxford. He retired from the City of Oxford after 23 years and was the owner of Shural’s Beef House Restaurant at College Hill.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Old Union Nazarene Church Cemetery in Thaxton, MS. Bro. David Bodenheimer will officiate.

He is survived by one sister, Cathy Bass of Oxford; one nephew, Duncan Bass of Chicago, IL; and one aunt, Evelyn Russell of Oxford.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
