William “Bill” Ira Ales

OXFORD — William “Bill” Ira Ales, 75, died Monday, August 14, 2017, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston, MS. 

The funeral service will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Hanks officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday evening, August 16, 2017, from  4:00 — 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Oxford, MS, to Jewel Henderson and William Ira Ales, Sr., Mr. Ales was a truck driver for Huggins Oil, Inc. He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church and was a former Captain of the Lafayette County Fire Department, Engine No. 5.

Mr. Ales is survived by his daughters, Sandy Ales of Oxford, MS and Gina Cheney and her husband, Joe of Oxford, MS; sons, Billy Ales of Water Valley, MS, Chris Ales and his wife, April of Water Valley, MS and Daniel Ales and his wife, Ashley of Water Valley, MS; sister, Joanne Dorris and her husband, Buster of Oxford, MS; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
