On July 18, officers with the Oxford Police Department took a report of a stolen boat motor that was taken from a residence on South 18th Street.

The alleged victim said the motor was stolen sometime between 7:30 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Investigators began searching local and regional pawn shops and eventually located a similar motor in Southaven that was pawned by John W. Perry, 51, of Pope. The pawn shop provided pictures of the motor and investigators were able to positively identify it as the stolen boat motor.
