Harrison M. Cook, Jr.

WATER VALLEY — Harrison M. Cook, Jr., age 86, passed away August 17, 2017, at North MS Medical Center in Tupelo, MS with his family by his side.  Junior, as he was fondly called by most everyone, was born April 10, 1931, to the late Harrison M. Cook, Sr. and Ida Chandler Cook and drove a truck more than thirty years for Freeman Truck Lines. He enjoyed gardening and sharing his bountiful produce with friends and neighbors. He and his wife Evelyn took long walks together and were always faithful to their church, First Baptist of Water Valley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather to his family, who meant the world to him. He will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.

Services are planned for Saturday, August 19, 2017, at 11:00 AM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Dr. Randy Bain officiating. Visitation will be Friday, August 18, 2017, from 5:00 until 7:00 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Junior is survived by his wife of 64 years, Evelyn McCluskey Cook of Water Valley, MS; two daughters, Wanda Wallace of Tupelo, MS and Nancy Smith (John) of Vicksburg, MS; three granddaughters, Leah Smith Patterson, Beth Smith Walker and Natalie Wallace; and seven great-grandchildren, Annady, Addi Kate, Rylan, Swayze, Reagan, Brett and Ainsley.
