Bennie David Ray, 82, died Thursday, August 24, 2017, at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford, MS. The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 3:00 P.M. at Yellow Leaf Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry East and Rev. Ross Robertson officiating. Burial will follow in Yellow Leaf Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. prior to the funeral at the church.

Born in Lafayette County, MS, to the late Elijah Jack and Emma Lee Smith Ray, Mr. Ray was retired from the Colonial Baking Company where he worked as a salesman and drove a truck for 29 years. He also worked for the City of Oxford Sanitation Department and in delivery for Super D. Mr. Ray was a member of Yellow Leaf Baptist Church where he was deacon emeritus. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Jerry Hill, Patti’s late husband, a sister, Bonnie Ray, a brother, Billy Ray and a great grandson, Noah Cobb.
