““It is an honor to be invited to speak to the Oxford Pachyderm Club,” Pickering said. “I am looking forward to meeting this great group of leaders and influencers in North Mississippi.”

Pickering was originally elected as State Auditor in 2007 and re-elected in 2011 and 2015. Since 2008, he has recovered more than $26 million in embezzled, misappropriated and misspent taxpayer money.

“Auditor Pickering’s presentation is a great opportunity for citizens to learn how the office oversees and conducts financial audits of local governments in Mississippi,” said Russ Jones, the founding president of the Oxford Pachyderm Club. “The fiscal oversight, transparency and accountability this executive branch of state government provides are vitally important.”

The Republican Party-affiliated club will meet tomorrow from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Oxford Conference Center at 102 Ed Perry Blvd. The cost is $20 for members and $23 for non-members. Reservations can be made at Oxfordpachyderm.com.
