Catherine Taylor Longest

Mrs. Catherine Taylor Longest, 85, died at her home in Oxford, MS on Saturday, September 23, 2017. The graveside service will be held on Thursday, September 28, at 1 p.m. in Glenville Cemetery in Como, MS with Rev. Justin McGuire officiating. Burial will follow in Glenville Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Longest was born to the late John and Thelma Coleman Taylor in Raleigh, TN. She was a member of College Hill Presbyterian Church in Oxford, MS. She worked as a teller at the Bank of Como and took the Bank President’s position for an interim period of time. She was an avid flower gardener and spent many hours tending to her flower gardens and vegetables.

She is survived by her husband of 57 years, William D. Longest of Oxford, MS; a sister, Shirley Pratt of Winona, MS; brother Gerald Taylor of Senatobia, MS; and numerous nieces and nephews.
