Visit Oxford gives $10,000 grant to Oxford Film Festival

Visit Oxford has generously given Oxford Film Festival a 10,000 grant for the 2018 Film Festival which will take place February 7-11, in Oxford, MS.  The funds will be used to support the 15th-anniversary film festival to be held February 7-11, 2018.

“Throughout the years, Visit Oxford has consistently supported Oxford Film Festival and we are so thankful for their generosity,” said Melanie Addington, executive director of Oxford Film Festival. “Because of their support, we have been able to continue to broaden our presence of arts and assure that each festival is even better than the last”.

This year’s 2018 film festival is expected to grow in attendance from 6,800 to 7,000 attendees. The donations and support from places such as, Visit Oxford, are what allow the Oxford Film Festival to consecutively be named in the Top 100 Best Reviewed Festivals as listed by FilmFreeway.com. The festival is currently accepting sponsor pledges and donations for the 2017-2018 year.

The Oxford Film Festival was founded in 2003 to bring exciting, new and unusual films (and the people who create them) to North Mississippi. The annual five-day festival screens short and feature-length films in both showcase and competition settings, including narrative and documentary features and shorts; Mississippi narratives, documentaries and music videos, and narrative, documentary, animated and experimental shorts. The festival is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.
