Lila Lee Nosser McRight, age 92, died on Nov. 14, 2017 at home surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be at First Baptist Church, Greenville, Miss. on Friday, Nov. 17. Visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The funeral service will begin at 12:30 p.m. with Dr. James Nichols officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenville Cemetery.

Lila Lee was born in Vicksburg, Miss., and graduated from Carr Central High School. She attended the University of Mississippi where she was a cheerleader, Miss Ole Miss, Most Beautiful, President of the Associated Women Students and a member of the Hall of Fame.  She was active in many organizations throughout her life including the March of Dimes, Red Cross, PTO, Chamber of Commerce and the Ole Miss Alumni Association.  She was also a member and past president of the Greenville Garden Club.

Lila Lee was active in the First Baptist Church and a member of the Encouragers Sunday School Class. She successfully managed her real estate business, Lila Lee McRight Realty, until she was 86 years old, and was named Realtor of the Year.  She was also named the Greenville Hot Tamale Queen in 2015.

After a lifetime of following Ole Miss Football, she was honored to be the ESPN/Cheetos GameDay Fan of the Week in 2015. She was also thrilled when the Lila Lee McRight Endowment for Veteran’s Success was created at the University of Mississippi for veterans returning to school after their service.

Most importantly, she embraced life and genuinely liked every person she met. She had the gift of making anyone who entered her home, friend or stranger, feel special.  She loved God, her church, her family and all those in her extended circle of friends. She shared her favorite Bible verse often: “A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver or gold, Proverbs 22:1.” Lila Lee Nosser McRight will be missed by all.
