Mrs. Billie Jean Babb, 76, passed away Saturday, Nov. 25, 2017, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.

Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Paris Baptist Church in Paris, Miss. A funeral service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m., also at Paris Baptist Church. Interment will be at Paris Cemetery in Paris, Miss. Bro. Larry Wicker will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Babb was born in Coffeeville, Miss. She was a homemaker, who enjoyed sewing and collecting dolls. Mrs. Babb loved being outdoors and in nature.

Mrs. Babb is survived by her husband, Charles Babb of Millington, Tenn; three sons, Darriell Babb of Memphis, Tenn., Bryan (Lisa) Babb of Covington, Tenn, and Joe Babb of Millington; three daughters, Brenda Smith of Drummonds, Tenn, Lynda (Mickey) Rook of Memphis, and Lori Glessing of West Memphis, Ark; two sisters, Margie Peters of Ark, and Rachel Clark of Olive Branch, Miss; one brother, Mike Melton of Baton Rouge, La; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Babb is preceded in death by her parents, Velma Cleo Melton and Carl Bilbo Melton; two brothers, Harry Melton and Henry Melton; and one sister, Martha Hollowell.

Donations and memorials in honor of Mrs. Babb may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital (262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105).
