There is nothing quite like the Oxford Christmas Parade

In Oxford, you know the holiday season is officially underway when the community’s annual Christmas parade arrives.

Tonight is the night, and at 6:30 p.m. Oxford’s small-town wonder will emerge in the event that is uniquely our own.

No place has a Christmas parade like Oxford.

We were reminded of that walking a broad loop through town Sunday, finding several parade floats under construction. We saw Boy Scouts working on a float. We saw one man with a trailer and float under construction in a yard.

And, it was a delightful sight.

The parade begins per tradition at Mid-Town Shopping Center, traveling along North Lamar to the Square. Along the way, families and children from Oxford and beyond line the streets. We hear the sounds of our marching bands. We see the signs of our caring hearts.

It’s all enough to make Oxford jingle.

We thank the Lions Club for its years of service keeping the Christmas parade alive and so many others who eagerly participate.

We are proud to see our small-town charm on display each year and are delighted that the Oxford Christmas Parade today is just as good as it has always been.
