Mr. James V. Bishop, 86, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at Oxford Health and Rehab in Oxford, Miss.  Visitation will be Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.  A memorial service will be held Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at 2 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.  Bro. Chase Owen will officiate.  Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bishop was born in Tula, Miss.  He dedicated 17 years of his life to the Ole Miss Campus Police, where he retired at the rank of Lieutenant. He also enjoyed coaching his sons in baseball as they grew up. Mr. Bishop loved nothing more than spending time and visiting with his family.

Mr. Bishop is survived by one son, Allen (Patti) Bishop of Oxford; three granddaughters, Emily (Chase) Owen of Gulfport, Miss., Amanda (Brian) Casey of Senatobia, Miss., and Amber (Matt) Foster of Pontotoc, Miss.; three grandsons, Jake (Jessica) Sellers of Birmingham, Ala., and Zach Bishop and Chase Bishop, both of Senatobia; six great-grandchildren, Haley, Grace, Zayden, Blayze, Brandon, Christopher, Benjamin, and Blayden; and one great-great-grandchild, Locklynn.

Mr. Bishop was preceded in death by his parents, Ed Bishop and Julie Bishop; one son, Leon Bishop; 12 brothers and sisters; and several other extended family members.
