Woman charged with taking money from Walmart

- On Friday, December 15, the Oxford Police Department arrested Anita Carol Baker(54 of Bruce, MS.) for embezzlement. On December 15, 2017, the Oxford Police Department took a report from lost prevention at Walmart about an employee who had been taking money from the business. After gathering all information, it was found that Baker had been taking money from different cash registers from October 21, 2017 until December 15, 2017 totaling over $3,000.00. Baker was given a bond of $3,000.
A Walmart employee was arrested Friday for allegedly stealing money from registers.
According to the Oxford Police Department, Walmart contact OPD about an employee who had allegedly been taking money from the business. After an investigation, it was determined that Anita Carol Baker, 54, of Bruce had been taking money from different cash registers between Oct. 21 and Dec. 15, totaling more than $3,000.
Baker was arrested and taken to the Lafayette County Detention Center where she was booked on a $3,000 bond.
