Robert Jay DeRuyscher

Robert Jay DeRuyscher, 71, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford, Miss. The funeral mass will be held Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017, at 3 p.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church with Father Joe Tonos officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 2 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. DeRuyscher was born in Kalamazoo, Mich., to the late Peter and Myrtice DeRuyscher. He formerly worked as an Industrial Engineer at Kellogg and then transitioned into plant management. Following his extensive career in manufacturing, he retired as Vice-President of Sales at American Cold Storage. Mr. DeRuyscher was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an avid golfer and found great enjoyment in reading political biographies. Mr. DeRuyscher served our country as a Sergeant in the United States Army Reserve.   

Survivors include his wife, Marcy Louise Dreiling DeRuyscher of Oxford, Miss.; daughters, Amy Lebedev and her husband, Gennady of Placentia, Cali., Lisa Scott and her husband, Matthew of Oxford, Miss., and Tamara Austin and her husband, Paul of Oxford, Miss.; sister, Debbie Larson and her husband, Ken of Portage, Mich., and five grandchildren, Michael, Lillie, Samantha, Katie and Nicholas.
