Mr. Jeff “J.D.” Jones, 66, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018, at his home in Oxford, Miss. Visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 3 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Bro. Fish Robinson will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Jones was born and raised in Oxford. Mr. Jones worked most of his life as an automobile mechanic. When Mr. Jones was not working, he enjoyed fishing. He was also very fond of helping others in need. However, nothing made him happier than spending time with his friends and family.

Mr. Jones is survived by his wife, Bennie Jones of Oxford; his son, Timmy Jones of Oxford; his daughter, Tina (Tommy) Cox of Courtland, Miss.; four granddaughters, Kelley (Justin) Fretwell of Alabama, Caitlyn (Dallas Holcomb) Cox of Batesville, Miss., Kori Cox of Courtland, and Autum Jones of Oxford; one grandson; Jordan Cox of Courtland; four brothers, Dewitt Jones of Oxford, Edward (Jeanette) Jones of Abbeville, Miss., Larry Jones of Southaven, Miss., and Roy Jones of Oxford; a sister, Peggy Jones of Oxford; three great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mr. Jones is preceded in death by his parents, Major Jones and Clytie Jones; one grandson, Tyler Emerick; one sister, Julie Ann Jones; and three brothers, Bobby Jones, James Jones, and William Jones.
