A Pope woman was arrested Tuesday for allegedly embezzling money from her place of employment.

According to the Oxford Police Department, owners of Epicure Skin Therapy contacted OPD claiming that Elizabeth Lauren Smith, 29, embezzled more than $1,700 while working there.

She was arrested and charged with embezzlement and booked into the Lafayette County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
