Winter Storm Hunter arrived to Oxford early Friday morning, causing Oxford and Lafayette schools to be canceled.

With that came cancellations of games on what was scheduled to be a busy Friday night in local sports.

The Oxford-Columbus basketball games scheduled to be played at Oxford High have been canceled. There is no make up date yet for the key Region 2-6A games. Both the Chargers and Falcons are 1-0 in region play on the boys side. The next time Oxford will play is on Tuesday when they travel to Lafayette.

The Lafayette-West Point basketball games scheduled to be played at Lafayette High tonight were also canceled with a make up date for the Region 2-5A games scheduled for Jan.22.

Lastly, the Oxford-Lafayette soccer matches scheduled to be played at Lafayette High tonight were canceled. The two teams will make up the games on Jan. 20 with times to be determined later.
