Mrs. Martha Martin, 84, passed away Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tenn. A memorial service will be announced at a later date for this Spring in Oxford, Miss., at the Gilmore Family Farm. The ceremony will include the planting of her favorite tree, a white dogwood. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Martin was born in Bailey, Miss. However, she spent the last seven years of her life in Trenton, Tenn. Mrs. Martin worked as a medical technologist for Dr. Nicholas Gotten, Jr. until they retired together after almost 35 years. She was also a long term member and past Grand Matron of the Mizpah Chapter #62 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Memphis, Tenn.

Mrs. Martin is survived by one daughter, Debra Reese; one grandson, Andrew Tackett; one granddaughter, Michelle Schuh; one sister, Betty Withers; one brother, Frank Gilmore, and two great grandchildren. She also leaves behind her dearest friend of over 40 yrs, Patsy Williamson.

Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, Albert. A. Martin and her son, Mike King.
