James A. Fitts, Sr., 69, of Olive Branch, Miss., passed away on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven, Miss.  He was born on Aug. 9, 1948 in Sardis, Miss., to Alyce Brasher and John Arthur Fitts.

A member of Peach Creek Baptist Church, he was an Eagle Scout, a drywall finisher and proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

Mr. Fitts is survived by one son, James Alan Fitts, Jr. (Christy) of Pleasant Grove and one grandson James Alan “A.J.” Fitts, III.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, DeDe Fitts.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018 at Peach Creek Baptist Church.  Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 2018, from 2 to 3 p.m. at the church. Burial will be in Peach Creek Cemetery.
