Two Memphis men who admitted they brought women to Oxford on several occasions for prostitution purposes, were sentenced on various charges Tuesday at the U.S. Federal Courthouse in Oxford.

Ricky “Slick Rick” Robertson, 25, and Ladarius “Dee Don” Jackson, 26, both entered guilty pleas in August on sex trafficking charges before Chief U.S. District Judge Sharion Aycock.

On Tuesday, Robertson was sentenced by Aycock to serve 188 months, which is about 15 and a half years – imprisonment followed by five years of supervised release.

Robertson entered a guilty plea in August to sex trafficking conspiracy, which can carry a sentence of life in prison; however, prosecutors agreed to recommend that the sentence not exceed 20 years in federal prison.

Jackson entered a guilty plea to traveling in interstate commerce to engage in prostitution and was sentenced Tuesday to 33 months in prison.

Both Robertson and Jackson admitted to transporting prostitutes from Memphis to Oxford in order to engage in commercial sex acts.

According to court records, Robertson admitted that between Dec. 1, 2015, and Dec. 31, 2015, he was trafficking prostitutes through fraud and coercion by controlling the money they earned from commercial sex.

“Human trafficking is not a victimless crime,” said United States Attorney William C. Lamar in a press release. “Women, many of whom are very young, are often coerced into prostitution by predators, taken advantage of, and are frequently victims of violence. Along with federal, state and local law enforcement, we will continue to address this problem in our district and prosecute those responsible.”
