Ole Miss falls at LSU to extend losing streak to 10

Ole Miss’ struggles have reached double digits.

The Rebels dropped their 10th consecutive game in a 84-55 loss to LSU in Baton Rouge on Thursday night. It is a losing streak that started on Jan. 11 with a loss to No. 2 Mississippi State.

Alissa Alston scored a team-high 16 points. Shelby Gibson scored 15 while Madinah Muhammad and Barbara Johnson each added nine points off the bench. Gibson pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.

Offense was in short supply for the Rebels (11-15, 1-12 Southeastern Conference) after scoring 79 points against Alabama on Sunday. They shot 35 percent (19 of 55) from the floor and went 1 of 18 (6 percent) from 3-point range.

The one bright spot was Ole Miss’ benc, which scored 22 points to LSU’s eight. The Tigers (8-4, 17-7) scored 20 points off the Rebels’ 21 turnovers.

Raigyne Louis scored a game-high 26 points for LSU. Chloe Jackson and Ayana Mitchell each scored 16 points. Jaelyn Richard-Harris scored 11 points to round out the Tigers’ four players in double figures.

Ole Miss will host No. 20 Georgia on Monday in their second to last home game this season at 6 p.m.
