Charles Arthur “Charlie” McCain

Charles Arthur “Charlie” McCain, 71, died Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018, at his home in Taylor, Miss. The funeral service will be held Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Brad Burnett officiating. Burial will follow in Yocona Cemetery.

Visitation will begin at 12 p.m. prior to the service in West Hall at the funeral home.   

Born in Taylor to the late William Elton and Ivy Mae Murchison McCain, Charlie was a millwright and worked for North MS Conveyor, welding and building in factories. He was a Mason and enjoyed being with his friends and attending his Navy reunions. He was a veteran of the United States Navy where he achieved the rank of BM3-Petty Officer 3rd Class, serving during the Vietnam war.

Survivors include his wife, Lynda Tatum McCain of Taylor, Miss.; daughters, Misty Gale Anderson and her husband, Gene and Rebecca Lynn Moorehead and her husband, Chris, both of Oxford, Miss.; brother, James Elton “Butch” McCain of Granby, Mo., and five grandchildren.

Memorial contributions in Charlie’s memory may be made to Disabled Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

In honor of Charlie’s service to our country, the flag of the United States Navy will be flown at Waller Funeral Home.
