Gladys Lorene Jones, 84, died Sunday, March 18, 2018, in Batesville, Miss. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Reverend Freddie Buchanan officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Flat Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2018, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Lafayette County, to the late James Walter and Lina Tallent Young, Mrs. Jones was a retired homemaker and a Worthy Matron in the Eastern Star. She enjoyed working in her vegetable garden and cooking for her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jones; son Ronnie Earl Jones; sister Grace Huffman and brothers, Homer Young, Billy Young and James Young.

Survivors include her daughter, Doris Jones Vickery of Oxford; sister, Marietta Patton of Oxford; two grandchildren, Leigha Jones and Carol Vickery of Oxford and one great-grandchild, Bentley Saxton.
