Jessie Ray Hadorn

Mr. Jessie Ray Hadorn, 72, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018, at his home in Abbeville. Visitation was held Sunday, March 25, 2018, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford. A funeral service immediately followed at 3 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Burial at Abbeville Cemetery. Bro. J.F. Dancer officiated.

Mr. Hadorn was born in Memphis, Tenn. He retired from Georgia Pacific in 2003 as a grinder operator. Mr. Hadorn was always an extremely hard worker, and he put his heart and soul in everything that he did. Some of his favorite hobbies were working on small engines, farming, and anything to do with the outdoors. However, Mr. Hadorn was fascinated by his horses. He rode and raised horses throughout his younger days. He was a genuinely wonderful person, who touched every life he came in contact with. Mr. Hadorn will be dearly missed.

Mr. Hadorn is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ruth Hadorn of Abbeville; two daughters, Rebecca Boyette and Susan (Richard) Hood, both of Scott City, Mo.; two sons, Terry (Rachael) Hadorn and Justin Hadorn, both of Abbeville; two brothers, James Hadorn of Batesville, Miss., and David (Jo) Hadorn of Fulton, Miss.; three sisters, Emma Hadorn, Gloria Davis, and Grace Whitley, all of Batesville; 8 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Hadorn was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Hadorn and Abbie Hadorn; and three brothers, Frank Hadorn, Fred Hadorn, and William Hadorn.
