James “Pop” Andrew Rider

James “Pop” Andrew Rider, 82, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at his home in Potts Camp, Miss. A visitation for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born in Memphis, Tenn., to the late Andrew William and Sara Laverne Acuff Rider, Mr. Rider was a retired baker from Kroger. He was a member of the Bethlehem Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he achieved the rank of Private. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, June Carol Melton.

Survivors include his sons, Joseph Wayne Rider of Potts Camp, James Carol Rider of Lexington, Tenn., Paul Kelly Rider of Memphis, William Kevin Rider of Pea Ridge, Ark., and Anthony Evan Rider of Potts Camp; sister, Linda Kay Key of Wynne, Ark.; brother, Michael Rayner Rider of Memphis; fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
