Thomas “Tommy” Michael Skelton

After a short illness, Thomas Michael Skelton “Tommy” of Olive Branch, Miss., passed away Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch.
Tommy was born Oct. 3, 1941, in Marks, Miss. A graduate of Marks High School, he attended Northwest Mississippi Junior College and the University of Mississippi.
He was a general contractor for many years in several locations in Mississippi and Colorado, a member of First United Methodist Church in Grenada, Miss, and an ardent fan of Ole Miss sports.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Johnson Skelton of Olive Branch, and five children, Mike Skelton (Mary Jo) of Coldwater, Miss.; Candace Tucker (Tommy) of Oxford, Miss.; Kristi Decoster (Jeff) of Bettendorf, Iowa and Laura Skelton and Megan Skelton both of Memphis, Tenn, and five grandchildren. He is also survived by a half-brother, Ray Skelton (Tiny) of Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Skelton and Susie Simpson of Marks, and his grandparents, Mike and Mae Skelton of Slate Springs, Miss. and Veola Simpson of Marks, Miss.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11 a.m. on April 7, 2018, at Carmella’s Ristorante, Grenada, Miss. Interment will take place at a later time at Bethany Cemetery in Slate Springs.
