Mrs. Dorothy Faye Carson, 90, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. A visitation will be held Sunday, April 22, 2018, from 2 until 3 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 3 p.m. in the Chapel of Coleman Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Bros. James Sprayberry and Gerald Shook will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Carson retired from a service filled life working at Carson’s Fish House, a family owned business she had with her husband, Mr. Robert Carson. Carson’s Fish House was a pioneer among restaurants in Mississippi, serving fish raised from their private 35-acre farmland.

Mrs. Carson was also known for her ability to memorize just about anything. She loved to keep her mind active playing card games and Sudoku.

Mrs. Carson is survived by her daughters, Kathy (Pete) Brummett of Oxford and Mary (James) Sprayberry of Bay Springs, Mississippi; grandchildren, Christy (John) Parker of Oxford, Casey (Greg) Martin of Austin, Texas, Robert Sprayberry of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Kimberly (Jason) Bumgardner of Oxford; great-grandchildren, Anna Carson and John Paul Parker of Oxford, Francie and Finley Martin of Austin, and Mary Laurel, Bella, Ellie, and Graham Bumgardner of Oxford; her brothers, Wayne Haas of Tupelo, Mississippi, and Joe Haas of France; her caregiver, Jean Foster of Waterford, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Carson was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Carson; parents, Marvin and Gracie Haas; and a host of brothers and sisters.
