A few new businesses have popped up on the Square since Double Decker last year, including Tres Belle, I Just Have to Have It and Threads.

Being part of Double Decker for the first time is something Christi Wilkerson, who owns Tres Belle, said is “super exciting.”

Wilkerson and the girls at Tres Belle, located above the new Van Atkins Jewelers location at 126 Courthouse Square, will be celebrating their first Double Decker weekend with discounted women’s clothing and gift items.

“We will be having a 50 percent off Red Dot Sale throughout the store, as well as a Garage Sale in the downstairs garage, located in the back alley, which will feature sales up to 75 percent off, and SunFish Pottery, which is handmade in Mississippi,” Wilkerson said.

Tres Belle’s second-floor balcony offers a panoramic view of the Square.

The storefront a few doors down is Threads, which just opened last week in the space that formerly housed Therapy. Threads is the brainchild of Jenny Coffey, who also owns Dsquared, located just off the Square on East Jackson Avenue.

“With the addition of Threads, we want to bring a unique shopping experience to the Square, just like we did with Dsquared,” Coffey said. “Our goal with Threads is to focus on the details. We want to make people feel like they are not in Oxford anymore when they walk inside. Like Dsquared, we want to give ladies the chance to get appealing and delightful clothes without breaking the bank.”

Both Threads and Dsquared, which celebrated its first birthday on April 18, will have giveaways and several discount racks for Double Decker shoppers to peruse.

I Just Have to Have It is located on South Lamar Boulevard, next to Summer Home Furnishings. Owned by twin sisters (and Ole Miss Students) Katherine and Marilyn Hessler, as well as their mother Cheryl, the boutique’s Oxford location opened its doors a couple of weeks ago. Based out of Meridian, I Just Have to Have It specializes in trendy clothing and accessories for young adults.

For those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of the Square this weekend, Buff City Soaps, located on University Avenue, will be opening their doors to the public. The store, which already has locations in New Albany, Bartlett, Tenn. and Memphis, specializes in homemade soaps, bath bombs and other skincare items.

“Take a break from the Square and check out our custom Oxford line,” employee Chance Kitchens said. “We’re also having a Double Decker sale.”

In addition to the brick-and-mortar stores lining the Square, the streets will be filled with Double Decker’s trademark booths, featuring the handiwork of local artisans.
