Former Ole Miss standout David Dellucci has been selected to the 2018 SEC Baseball Legends Class.

Dellucci joins former Mississippi State coach Ron Polk, Tennessee’s Alan Cockrell and Texas A&M’s Mark Ross in this year’s class. Dellucci is the third former Rebel to named an SEC legend, joining Don Kessinger (2017) and Jake Gibbs (2014).

Each member of this year’s class will be recognized during the quarterfinal games of the SEC Tournament, which will be played May 22-27 at the Hoover Met in Hoover, Alabama.

Now a college baseball analyst for the SEC Network, Dellucci was an All-American and two-time All-SEC selection during his time at Ole Miss from 1992-95. He hit .410 as a senior to win the SEC batting title and finished his Ole Miss career with a .326 average, 247 hits and 36 home runs before the Baltimore Orioles drafted him in the 10th round of the 1995 MLB Draft.

Dellucci enjoyed a 13-year MLB career with seven teams, hitting .256 with 101 home runs and nearly 400 RBIs before retiring in 2009. He was elected into Ole Miss’ “M Club” Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010 and named one of the 50 greatest athletes in Ole Miss history.
