Burgess “Tommy” Thomas Cox

Mr. Burgess “Tommy” Thomas Cox, 62, passed away June 6, 2018, in Oxford following a brief illness. Family and friends will be notified of an upcoming celebration in the near future. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tommy is survived by his wife, Melissa “Lisa” Cox, sister in law, Sandra Ehrlichman and her husband, Dave of Southaven, Miss.; father-in-law, Grant Housley of Oxford along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Born in Memphis, Tommy was a 1973 graduate of Gallatin High School, a former member of Gallatin Country Club and the Bluegrass Golf and Yacht Club. He completed his education at the University of Mississippi in 1977 where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity. Retired circulation manager at The Oxford Eagle, Tommy was an avid golfer, a Master Gardener and had a great passion for following his beloved Ole Miss Rebels.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. James E. and Dorothy Owens Cox as well as his sister, Linda Lee Cox.
