Officers with the Oxford Police Department arrested Donald Rutherford, 25 of Oxford, on July 7 at approximately 10:10 p.m. for domestic violence – aggravated assault.

Prior to the arrest, OPD received a report of a domestic dispute at a residence off Thacker Road. Officers responded and an investigation ensued, during which Rutherford was apprehended. Rutherford was transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center and given a bond of $10,000 by a Justice Court Judge.
