The volleyball season was set to begin Monday night for a pair of rivals, but a wardrobe malfunction halted things.

Oxford’s match at Lafayette has been postponed. There is no makeup date set, but sometime this month is the target.

Lafayette ordered replacement jerseys but did not receive them as of Monday afternoon. Without enough old jerseys to dress out a full team the Commodores had to postpone Monday night’s season opener.

The season’s will now begin later this week for both teams. Lafayette will travel to Ripley (6:30 p.m.) on Tuesday and Oxford’s season will start on Thursday with a road match at Tupelo (6 p.m.).
