Greg Hardy’s path to the UFC took another step forward on Tuesday.

The former Ole Miss and NFL star earned his second UFC win in less than two months with a TKO victory over Tebaris ‘Boom’ Gordon. Hardy main evented the second season finale of ‘Dana White’s Tuesday Night Contenders’ after earning his first professional win on the season premiere.

It was not a competitive fight from the bell. Hardy rushed Gordon, knocking him out in 17 seconds to improve to 2-0 as a professional fighter.

“I think I sent a message. I’m here for business,” Hardy said during a post-fight interview. “Honestly, I wanted to send a message today and that message is ‘whenever you want me.’ Put me in there and I’ll prove it every single time. I’m not here to nitpick. I’m not here to steal anything. I’m going to earn every single cent.”

Hardy made his UFC debut on June 12 with a 57-second TKO victory over former NFL player Austen Lane on June 12. Following the win UFC President Dana White announced they were going to sign Hardy to a developmental contract.

After Tuesday’s win White chose to not give Hardy a full UFC contract, keeping him as a developmental talent.

“We got nothing but time,” White said after the fight. “(Hardy) needs to get some more work in.”
