Elsie Euvern Amidei

Elsie Euvern Amidei died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, in Manteno, Ill. She loved entertaining, ballroom dancing and music. She worked on military equipment and was the epitome of Rosie the Riveter during the WWII era.

Euvern is survived by one son, Earl Starks of Maine; one brother, Dennis Ashmore of California; one granddaughter, Mieghan Starks of California; four sisters-in-law, Lucille Biondi, Carolyn Ashmore, Annie Ashmore and Judy Ashmore as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her husband, Ernie Amidei; her father, Will Goodwin; her mother, Eula Ashmore and her stepfather, Leland Ashmore; two brothers, Lewis and Boyce Ashmore; and two sisters, Virginia Piechocki and Mary Lou O’Dell.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, 2018 in Manteno, Ill. and Euvern’s body will return home for interment.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Liberty Cemetery in Calhoun County at 2 p.m. on Aug. 14, 2018.

Seven Oaks Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
