Bridgette Pumphrey Turner

Mrs. Bridgette Pumphrey Turner, 44, died Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tenn.  The funeral service will be Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018, at 4:30 p.m. at Oxford-University United Methodist Church with Reverend Eddie Rester and Reverend Warren Black officiating.  Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be prior to the service beginning at 1:30 p.m. in the atrium of the church.  Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born on April 6, 1974 in Memphis, Tenn., Bridgette was a member of Oxford-University United Methodist Church. Bridgette was a hardworking business owner and proud to represent the name of Dominos as a franchisee.  Beloved by her employees, Bridgette was known to donate pizzas for large causes or as a simple gesture to friends for a weeknight meal.  She was fiercely devoted to her family and adored her son, John Preston.  Friends, family and acquaintances alike will remember Bridgette’s joyful personality and encouraging spirit.  Bridgette was preceded in death by her father, Melvin Smith “Smitty” Pumphrey and her mother-in-law, Nancy Turner.

Survivors include her husband, Preston Turner of Oxford; a son, John Preston Turner, Jr., a freshman at Oxford High School; her mother, Jackie Hignite of Olive Branch, Miss.; a sister, Kimberly James of Memphis, Tenn.; a brother, Eddy Hignite of Memphis and her father-in-law, Jack Turner of Oxford.
