William Huckaby

Mr. William Huckaby, 77, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2018, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, Miss. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, from noon to 2:00 p.m., at Coleman Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m., also at Coleman Funeral Home. Pallbearer duties and Masonic Interment Rights will be conducted by the Banner Masonic Lodge. Interment will be at Webb Cemetery in Paris, MS (CR 493, Paris, MS 38943).

Bro. Dennis Doris and Bro. Mark Tutor will officiate. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Huckaby was born March 23, 1941, in Banner, Miss. He was employed by Chambers/Rangaire Corp. in Oxford for 21 years and by OMC/Toro Corp., also in Oxford, for 24 years, retiring in 2006 as the Materials Manager.

Mr. Huckaby was a member of Driver’s Flat Church and a 45-year member of Banner Masonic Lodge #329. He took great pleasure in spending time with and caring for his family.

Mr. Huckaby enjoyed traveling, bird hunting, coin collecting, reading and farming. In 1954, he moved with his family to Paris, where he spent the remainder of his life surrounded by his family and friends.

Mr. Huckaby will be greatly missed by his family and many friends who were very important in his life.

Mr. Huckaby is survived by his wife of 57 years, Glidvel Dean Sparks Huckaby of Paris; one daughter, Ann Huckaby (Roger) Thomas of Paris; two granddaughters, Jessica Davis (Matt) LoPresto of Newtown Square, Pa., and Jennifer Davis (Nathan) Noe of Paris; and four great-grandchildren, Ava Noe and Allie Noe, both of Paris, and Evie LoPresto and Bailey LoPresto, both of Newtown Square.

Mr. Huckaby was preceded in death by his parents, Earnest Huckaby and Mae Clifton Huckaby; three brothers, Joseph Wilson Huckaby, Lonnie Earnest Huckaby and James Lafayette Huckaby and one sister, Johnnie Merle Huckaby Reynolds.
