Betty Givens Moore

Mrs. Betty Givens Moore, 91, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Brookdale Dogwood Creek in Germantown, Tenn.

A graveside service will be held Saturday, Sept. 29, 2018, at 1 p.m. in St. Peter’s Cemetery in Oxford with Rev. Jennifer Southall officiating. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Born to the late Mary Frances and George Dudley Givens, Jr., Mrs. Moore was the widow of Mr. Henry Norflette Moore. A longtime Oxford resident and member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Mrs. Moore lived the past 15 years in Memphis with her daughter. During her time in Memphis, she founded the Memphis Post Card Club. She was a member of DAR, Garden Club, The Geological Society and was a Pink Lady and Volunteer for Mud Island Park Museum. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Moore was preceded in death by a sister, Frances R. Givens Kee.

Survivors include her daughter, Sarah “Robin” Robbins Ransburgh Williams of Collierville, Tenn.; two sons, Bruce Ransburgh of West Pains, Mo. and Christopher Ransburgh of Memphis; seven grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
