Kenneth Brummett

Mr. Kenneth Brummett, 74, died Sunday, Sept. 30, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. The funeral service will be Thursday, Oct. 4, 2018, at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Allen officiating. Burial will follow in Eastover Memorial Cemetery.  Visitation will be Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2018, from 5 until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home.

Born to the late Jesse Paul and Mary Atha Brummett in the Denmark Community of Lafayette County, Mr. Brummett formerly lived in Tremont, Ill. He was a longtime member of Tremont Baptist Church and worked as a truck driver for Keystone Steel Wire and Company. Following his retirement, Mr. Brummett returned to Oxford and faithfully attended First Baptist Church where he served as an usher.  He was a loyal fan of his Ole Miss Rebels and the St. Louis Cardinals and regularly enjoyed walks with his wife, Doris. Mr. Brummett’s love and devotion for his family was unmatched but of no comparison to the precious relationship he shared with his grandson, Zach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Charolette Moore of Oxford and three brothers, Harold Brummett, Judy Brummett and Morris Brummett.

Survivors include his wife, Doris Brummett of Oxford; a son, Kurt Brummett and his wife, Kelly (who was loved as a daughter); a sister, Betty Tyler of Oxford; one grandson, Zach Brummett and a host of family and friends.
