Former Lafayette High School teacher Molly Wray has been indicted for enticing a minor to meet for sexual purposes.

Wray was indicted on Sept. 5 by the Lafayette County grand jury for allegedly enticing a 17-year-old male, an LHS student, to meet for the purposes of participating in sexually explicit conduct.

The alleged meeting took place in November 2017.

Wray was scheduled for arraignment on Oct. 8 but her attorney, Tony Farese, filed a motion to continue during a later court term. A Circuit Court judge approved that request.

Wray was charged by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department in June 2018 and given a bond of $10,000. Wray appeared in court for a probable cause hearing the following month, though she waived her right to the hearing and left the Lafayette County Courthouse soon after proceedings began.

The investigation into Wray began after the sheriff’s department received a complaint from Lafayette County School District Superintendent Adam Pugh regarding reports of improper conduct between a teacher and a student, a statement from the department said at the time.

Wray taught math at LHS, but resigned shortly after the investigation began.
