Obituary – Lottie Wynette Savage Horne

Lottie Wynette Savage Horne, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 12, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2019, at 11 p.m. at Anchor Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Shook officiating. Burial will follow in Anchor Cemetery. The visitation will be held Wednesday at the church prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until service time.

Born in Lafayette County, Mississippi, to the late Paul Eugene and Irene Smith Savage, Mrs. Horne was a member of Anchor Baptist Church where she enjoyed being a greeter, a member of the Joy Sunday School Class and 2018 Mother of the Year. She had been a supervisor at Big Yank and a clerk at the Ole Miss Bookstore. Lottie found great joy in cooking for her large family. She loved babies and children. Along with her parents, Mrs. Horne was preceded in death by a husband, William “Bill” Bumgardner; a son, Delain Horne; three sisters and four brothers.

She is survived by her husband, William Horne of Oxford, Mississippi; two daughters, Janet Knight and her husband, James of Oxford, and Connie Bumgardner of Oxford; three sons, Billy Bumgardner and his wife, Shirley of Water Valley, Mississippi, David Bumgardner of Water Valley, and Stephen E. Horne and his wife, Iris of Clark Summit, Pennsylvania; a sister, Jannie Miller of Bruce, Mississippi; two brothers, Harold Savage of Chicago, Illinois, and Herbie Savage of Water Valley; nine grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Peggye
Britt of Oxford.
