Obituary – Russell Buchholz

Mr. Russell Buchholz, 66, passed away Friday, Jan. 25, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi, Oxford. There are no services planned at this time. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Buchholz was born in Manhattan, Kansas. He enjoyed being an artist. Mr. Buchholz could play any musical instrument but loved to play the piano most of all. After 34 years of service, he retired from the University of Kansas. Mr. Buchholz was a Certified Public Manager. He also enjoyed his work at The University of Mississippi, where he worked for 16 years. Mr. Buchholz was a Vietnam War Veteran and received a National Defense Service Medal.

Mr. Buchholz is survived by his wife, Lori Buchholz of Water Valley, Mississippi; one daughter, Heather (Geoff) Moncher of Thompsons Station, Tennessee; one son, Steven (Melody) Buchholz of Eudora, Kansas; three grandsons, Matthew (Racquel) Moncher of Columbia, Tennessee, Isaiah Moncher of Thompsons Station, and Grant Buchholz of Eudora; two granddaughters, Graci and Lily Buchholz both of Eudora; one great-granddaughter of Ava Moncher of Columbia; two great-grandsons, Otto and Renner Moncher both of Columbia; one brother Dennis (Patty) Buchholz of Lawrence, Kansas; two nieces, Angie (Chad) Sommer of Lawrence, and Amanda Buchholz of Kansas City, Missouri; and Lori Buccholz daughter, Cara McPherson of Colorado, Colorado.
