Two men, one from Booneville and the other from Saltillo, were arrested after being caught by a private security firm for stealing items out of a car.

Oxford Police were contacted by The Hub on Anchorage Road after the apartment complex observed two males entering vehicles at the complex. OPD arrived and arrested Dawson George, 20 of Booneville, and Ethan Oakes, 19 of Saltillo.

After the arrests, victims began reporting that items were missing from their vehicles, and OPD found majority of the missing items in the suspects’ vehicle.

Both George and Oakes were charged with eight counts of auto burglary, and transported to the Lafayette County Detention Center.

A Justice Court Judge gave both $25,000 bonds.
